Jane is what the Agency calls an 'Underground guardian'. She has her own word for it, which is rather less PG. It's her job to check for problems in the Underground railway. Though what those might be is anyone's guess.
Until one day she finds an unexpected hole that might take her deeper than anyone has ever gone, and show her things that might be hidden for a reason.
